I know. I know!! Where have I been? I’ve been right here, but my blog sort of got away from me. Or I got away from my blog. Time and circumstances (and just a little bit of procrastination) got in the way. In the meantime I have been going through the daily routine of my day job and family life. I have been trying to find my way and trying to figure out where I want to go with my photography. I have also been working at moving my blog to a new platform (Squarespace to WordPress) and doing a lot of redesign with a steep learning curve. This would most likely not be happening were it not for the help of the amazingly talented Amanda Creek. If not for her, I would still have a blog and not this platform. I now have a space to showcase my photos and make my blog a whole website and business.
While I have been pondering these deep thoughts and making big changes, I have been reading. Lots of reading. Lots of books. The world felt like it was spinning out of control and me along with it if I kept going online and reading about all of the negative events going on in the world. So I decided to control what types of things I let in, so to speak. The mindless internet scrolling got replaced with a book. At least with books I could control the type of story I was exposed to. I read thrillers, mysteries, biographies, chick-lit, YA, fantasy, historical fiction, cozy mysteries, non-fiction, children’s (middle grade), and so on. I read 77 books in 2017. Seventy seven books!! Yes I still took pictures; many of them of books.
I’ll keep this post short and sweet. I now have a brand new website with my blog as part of it. My photos and life/adventure happenings will still be here, but I am putting more emphasis on making this a business as well. I have links to where you can purchase my photos and will be adding more in those areas very soon. I’ll take more about what books I’m reading or have read, on here as well. You can also see some photos and what I have been up to in my Instagram feed. If you’ve been here before, welcome back. If you’re new, thanks for stopping by. I hope you enjoy what’s new at the view from where I am…
