Things I Am Thankful For…

Hello again Friends!!  Yes Thanksgiving Day in Canada is this weekend.  I don’t know how you do it the U.S. with your Thanksgiving day so close to Christmas.  At least we get a break in between all the food and visiting here!  LOL  With the long weekend coming up, of course that got me thinking.  What do I have to be thankful for?  Really, what do we not have to be thankful for.  We all have so much!!  And our kids have so much!!  We probably have too much; stuff!!!  An overabundance of stuff!!  Well, here are some things I am thankful for.

Family & Friends

Of course I’m starting with the most important first.  Where would I be without them? Near or far they are the backbone of my very existence.   They are the sugar to my coffee. They are the waves to my ocean.  The frosting on my cupcake.  The….okay, you get the picture right. They are important!  They are everything!  The end.

Coffee

What can I say.  I love coffee!  The number of days per year that I don’t drink coffee can probably be counted on one hand.  Coffee just warms my heart and soul.  And literally warms my body.  🙂  It keeps me sane on crazy days.  I am sure that my family is thankful for my coffee too.  LOL

Books

I LOVE BOOKS!  Almost as much; well probably the same and maybe even more; as coffee. But please don’t ask me to choose.  Books can take you to the past or to the future or leave you in the present.  They can transport you to another country or to another dimension.  They can feel like a warm hug and fill you with joy.  They can also break your heart and bring you to tears and to your knees.  Books have a real life all their own.  I really believe that.  I have always loved to read, but somewhere along the way found myself too “busy.”  But in recent years they have found their way back to me.  I have read 21 books so far this year and am currently on #22 “The Light Between Oceans” by M.L. Stedman.  I have a feeling this one will break my heart…

Internet/Technology

I know, I know!  We all use and depend on technology too much.  But without technology you could not read my lovely words and see my beautiful photos.  Haha!  I can borrow books from my eLibrary without leaving my house.  I can order items online I need for me and my family and have them come in the mail instead of having to drive 45 minutes to two hours away to purchase them.  Without the internet, I could not stay in touch with family and friends. Without technology, my little world would feel even smaller and more isolated.  I know there is a lot of bad out in the world but there is so much more good.  You can make so many connections and not feel cut off from the world.  With the internet and technology, seek and you shall find.

Migraine Medication

I’ll just say that without it, there are days that I would not be able to function.  Days where not even coffee could help.  I can only describe a migraine as a really bad toothache in your head.  Mine are like an ice pick trying to pierce my skull behind my left eye.  Definitely not the most pleasant feeling.  I can go a month without one at times, and then I can have two in one week.  That migraine medication literally saves my life.  Maybe not literally, but at least my head stops feeling like it is going to explode.

Photography Gear

I love being about to create photos that are just mine and from my point of view.  Using my Nikon D5300 or my iPod Touch 6, I can capture an image that can make you wonder or make you smile.  Every little piece of photography equipment has some important job to do.  Big or small, I am thankful for each one.

Where I Live

Newfoundland, Canada, Planet Earth.  We come in peace.  I love being able to breath in the fresh salty air every day.  I love being surrounded by the ocean and the forest.  And I love knowing my neighbours.

Sweaters

Hoodies!  Sweaters!  Sweatshirts!  Cardigans!  All keep me warm all year round.  And I am thankful for each one I own.

This week’s blog post was short and sweet.  I am sure that there are many more things I am thankful for from day to day.  But these are just some that come to mind today.  I am thankful to be a Canadian.  I am thankful that my sister was kind enough to cook Thanksgiving dinner for us today.  Thanks sis!  Whether you are celebrating Thanksgiving Day this weekend, or not…What are you thankful for?  I am thankful every week that you all come back and take a look at the view from where i am…
