Hello friends! To say that the weather here has been somewhat depressing and uninspiring lately would be an understatement. A long winter that extended into Spring with blizzard and freezing rain warnings last week and then a rainfall warning a couple of days ago which took away more of the snow. The temperature is supposed to be above zero (Celsius) all this coming week so I think spring may really be here. I have been putting off writing a blog post for so long that I almost forget how its done. But done will be better than perfect.
The past couple of weeks has shown an ever changing landscape in my little world. No two days are ever alike. From cold, stormy days to bright, sunshiny days to rainy days and back to sunshine again. I feel like I am finally out from under the heavy blankets of winter. We have had pack ice in the harbour that seemed to sneak in overnight while in the midst of a blizzard and most of it has gone again, leaving just a few pieces for me to photograph. This week’s blog post will be a bit different from the usual in that I’m going to show a few short video clips and photos, put together into one video, taken from my cell phone to show you how different one day can be from the next here on the east coast of Newfoundland. The video clips and photos were taken March 29th, April 2nd, 3rd, 6th and 9th in that order in the video. This was the first time I used iMovie and put everything together; and then upload it to Youtube and put the link in here. Let’s just say, it took me a while. LOL Hopefully this works and I hope you enjoy it.
One year ago this month I took the plunge and purchased my domain name. www.theviewfromwhereiam.com was all mine! I wasn’t sure when I bought it if it would stick, but a year later I have never felt better about the name I chose. It still means the view from my camera lens, the view from my little corner of the world way over on the east coast of North America, and the view as I see things out in the world. No more and no less. Just me, my camera, my coffee, my books; and my view. More milestones this month include our oldest daughter’s birthday and mine and my husband’s wedding anniversary!
Yes spring has finally sprung and I think I can leave winter behind. Soon it will be just a distant memory. I am looking ahead to warmer days where I can get outside and take pictures and not have my fingertips freeze. I am also enjoying participating in #The100DayProject by getting back into painting. Spending more time doing things that don’t involve the internet. Sorry internet but we do need to spend some time apart. How about you? Have you taken up any hobbies, new or old? Are you looking forward to the warmer weather? Comment below! Thanks for staying and taking a look at the view from where I am…
